Vietnamese army athletes to be trained in China, S. Korea

    ¡¡HANOI, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Over 50 trainers and athletes, who are in Vietnam's army, will be sent to China and South Korea for extensive training from now to 2010.

    Twenty-one Vietnamese track-and-field athletes, badminton and table-tennis players, swimmers and divers and their trainers will go to China's southern region for intensive training, local newspaper People's Army reported Thursday.

    After that, over 30 other people, mainly martial arts athletes, will be sent to China and South Korea for training.

    Total daily cost for one Vietnamese athlete to undergo intensive training in China or South Korea is between 25 and 35 U.S. dollars, the newspaper said.
