GAZA, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Hamas' military wing, Ezz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, Monday vowed to kidnap and kill Israeli soldiers if the Israeli army would expand its incursion into the Gaza Strip.

During a two-day incursion into northeastern Gaza Strip, which ended on Monday morning, "groups of al-Qassam Brigades were about to capture several (Israeli) soldiers as part of their campaign to stand up against the invasion," said Abu Obaida, spokesman for the armed wing.

The Israeli troops withdrew in the morning after killing some 110 Gaza Palestinians during the incursion, which was part of a new large-scale offensive against the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

"The Israeli army is afraid of launching a large invasion into Gaza because its soldiers will be killed and it will be defeated," Abu Obaida said.

Israel said two soldiers were killed in the incursion. But Abu Obaida said the Israeli losses were much bigger "but the army hid them to maintain the soul of its soldiers."

Meanwhile, Abu Mujahed, a spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), said the Israeli army had withdrawn form Gaza "after its elite forces were badly overcome by God's fighters."

"The bill with the Zionist enemy is not settled because it committed massacres and killed children and women and bombed houses."
