TOKYO, March 3 (Xinhua) -- A Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) destroyer collided slightly with a Cambodian-flag freighter in Ho Chi Minh port in Vietnam early Monday afternoon, Japanese media reported.

The Japanese Defense Ministry said the collision was a minor one and nobody was injured in the accident.

The MSDF destroyer Hamayuki, which was on a training cruise, was following the guidance of the port toward the wharf when the accident happened at about 12:20 p.m. local time, the ministry said, adding that some paint on the freighter was scraped and the destroyer's flagpole at the stern was bent.

Details about the collision was still under investigation, ministry officials were quoted as telling reporters. ¡¡
