Iran, Iraq to review issue of joint oil wells 

    TEHRAN, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini announced on Sunday that Iran and Iraq are to review the issue of the two countries' joint oil wells, the official IRNA news agency reported.

    He told reporters during his weekly press briefing that a joint committee, to be formed in the next two months, will discuss the joint oil wells issue. Full story

Ahmadinejad says he supports united, strong Iraq

    BAGHDAD, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday that he supports a united and strong Iraq, noting that his visit represents a new chapter for the bilateral relationship.

    "A united, strong and developed Iraq will serve all the region," Ahmadinejad told a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Jalal Talabani following their meeting. Full story

Iraqi president pledges to expel Iranian rebel group

    BAGHDAD, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said on Sunday that Iraq is working to expel an Iranian rebel organization that opposes the Iranian Islamic regime.

    "The presence of those people as a terrorist organization in Iraq is prohibited according to the Iraqi constitution," Talabani said in a joint news conference with visiting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.Full story
