The 37-year-old model, a frequent visitor to Brazil,
was rushed in for surgery on Sunday.
"She recovered very well from her surgery," said
Mirtes Bogea, a spokeswoman for the Sirio Libanes hospital in Sao Paulo.
"Doctors signed her release and she left in the afternoon in a helicopter that
someone sent to pick her up."
The model's publicist, Jeff Raymond said on Tuesday
she had been hospitalized "to have a small cyst removed."
Dr. Jose Aristodemo Pinotti, the Brazilian surgeon
who attended to Campbell, was quoted as saying he had given her permission to
leave but recommended she stay in Brazil resting before resuming work.
He described the procedure as a laparoscopy, in which
doctors use a thin, lighted scope to view internal organs.
Campbell often visits Brazil and is frequently
photographed at parties with Brazilian celebrities.
Media reported last week that she had become engaged
to Marcus Elias, a 49-year-old Brazilian financier, after meeting him at a
fashion party in Sao Paulo earlier in February.
