BEIJING, Feb. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- The divorce between Hulk Hogan (aka Terry Bollea) and wife Linda may have occurred because the wrestler had an affair with his daughter's best friend.

    In a recent interview with the National Enquirer, Christiane Plant 'fessed up.

    "My relationship with Terry began at a time when Terry and Linda privately knew their marriage was ending," Christiane told the tabloid. "She had left him already, although no official papers had been filed."

    The actual status of Terry and Linda's relationship at the time is debatable. Hulk claimed he was "shocked" to learn of his wife's plan to divorce him when papers were eventually filed in November of last year.

    Christiane's friendship with Brooke Bollea may be over as well.

    "Having felt the guilt and pain build up, I gave a note to Brooke apologizing for my actions," Christiane said. "I will never be able to fully forgive myself for this. I have lost an amazing friend."

    In a message posted to her MySpace blog a week ago, Brooke stated, "I'm going through one of the hardest issues I've ever had to deal with in my life ... please keep me and my family in your prayers."

    Gossip blogger Perez Hilton said another message was posted two days later and since deleted, in which Brooke addressed the issue more directly. "When your best friend and one of your closest family members that you have loved unconditionally since your first day on this earth, betray you together, you could MAYBE find it in yourself to forgive one day ... but you will NEVER forget the hurt they caused you ..."
