BANGKOK, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-two scavengers were injured in an explosion at a garbage dumping site in Thailand's northern province Tak on Friday, local media reported.
The explosion happened at 8:45 a.m. (0145 GMT) Friday at the dumping site in Mae Sot Municipality in Tak Province, which borders Myanmar, news network The Nation reported.
Most of the injured were from Myanmar who collected recyclable garbage for sale. They were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police said bomb disposal experts have yet to determine what kind of explosives have gone off at the site.
