HANOI, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will host the 12th Association of
Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Finance Ministers' Meeting (AFMM) and related
meetings from March 31 to April 4 in central Da Nang city.
The AFMM will discuss many finance issues, including reinforcement of
capital market and financial service liberalization and cooperation in taxation,
according to sources from Vietnam's Finance Ministry.
Besides the AFMM, the ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting
(AFDM) and the Informal ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting Plus
Three (China, Japan and South Korea) will be held in the city.
The 11th AFMM took place in April 2007 in Thailand.
The Eighth ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF8) opened in Vietnam's capital
Hanoi on Monday. During the two-day forum, delegates are to focus discussions on
facilitating transnational stock offers, and building up harmonized standards on
information announcement, financial report and stock distribution regulations.
The 10 ASEAN members include Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia,
Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
