Special report: Tension escalates in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- An Iraqi woman was killed and two people were wounded in a bomb explosion in northern Baghdad on Tuesday, an Interior Ministry source said.

"A roadside bomb detonated near a civilian car close to the Academy of Fine Arts in the al-Waziriya neighborhood, damaging the car and killing a woman along with wounding two civilians," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Also in the capital, the source said that police patrols have collected five unidentified bodies dumped in different parts of Baghdad during the past 24 hours.

Violence and daily gruesome finding of unidentified bodies continue in Baghdad despite a major security plan aimed at checking the insurgency and sectarian strife in the capital.
