SEOUL, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- The South Korean Foreign Ministry is preparing for setting up more diplomatic agencies in Africa to implement the incoming administration's resource strategy, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Friday.

According to Yonhap, the Foreign Ministry will adjust its diplomats overseas and increase the staff of its diplomatic agencies in resource-rich countries, especially those in Africa.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry has begun to work for the establishment of an additional diplomatic agency in Cameroon, which is South Korea's biggest oil-supplier in Africa, and expects the new agency in Cameroon to open in the first half of this year, it said.

The ministry also plans to open embassies in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo in Africa and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia.

South Korea's President-elect Lee Myung-bak is to take office on Feb. 25.
