Janis
spoke to British morning show GMTV about the changes in her daughter's life.
"Well, as you saw, she looks good and it's a case of
she's on the road ¡ª and that's what it's about ¡ª she's on the road to recovery,"
she said on the morning show, "and that's what it's all about."
"We all felt, the family, well everyone that saw her
felt that's the best she's performed, definitely," said the mother.
Winehouse scored a key victory for best song with hit
single "Rehab," in which she recounts her reluctance to seek help for excessive
drinking.
The singer won best new artist, record of the year
and best female pop vocal solo performance for "Rehab," as well as best pop
vocal album for the breakthrough release, "Back to Black."
She accepted her Grammys and performed "Rehab" and
another tune, "You Know I'm No Good," from a studio in England via satellite
during the awards' telecast as she was in rehab.
On video, she appeared healthier than she did a few weeks
ago when she was admitted.
Last month, the 24-year-old singer finally checked
into rehab shortly after a video showing her smoking crack surfaced online,
raising serious concerns for her life.
