Special report: Palestine-Israel Relations
GAZA, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing said Wednesday that its fighters
have launched some 26 homemade rockets into Israeli targets near Gaza since
Tuesday night.
Some 14 Qassam missiles landed into the southern
Israeli city of Sderot early in the night, Ezz el-Deen al-Qassam brigades said
in a statement faxed to the press.
Israel Radio said that 10 residents of Sderot
suffered from shock during the attack.
Hamas also fired rockets on Kissufim and Sufa
crossings in southeast Gaza Strip.
"These rocket attacks are an initial response to the
Zionist crimes against our Palestinian people," Hamas vowed.
Hamas resumed rocket attacks on Tuesday when Israeli
air force raided a position of Hamas' police forces in southern Gaza Strip,
killing at least six officers.
