WASHINGTON, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- A strong storm hit a shopping mall in the southern U.S. state of Tennessee on Tuesday but no casualties were reported so far, media reports said.

Local police said that the storm, possibly a tornado, collapsed part of the roof and walls of a shopping mall in Memphis, Tennessee, and damaged some other buildings in the area. No one was killed but some people suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the Union University in Jackson, 120 kilometers northeast of Memphis, also suffered some damage in the high winds, police sources in Jackson told U.S. media.
