BEIJING, Feb. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- People usually think drinking coffee, using mobile phone or having breast implant are harmful, but these are unlikely to cause cancer, according to Australian scientists' research released in the latest edition of the Mutation Research Reviews journal to mark world cancer day on Monday.

Professor Bernard Stewart in University of New South Wales created a five-point system to list the risk of cancer from proven and likely, to inferred, unknown and unlikely.

"Our tool will help establish if the level of risk is high, say on a par with smoking, or unlikely such as using deodorants, artificial sweeteners, drinking coffee," Stewart said.

He also found drinking fluoridated water and dental fillings can't cause cancer, but smoking and drinking alcohol are high risk factors.
