BEIJING, Jan. 31 -- Jet Li's disaster-relief foundation is doing its part in helping people who have been hit by the current snowstorm havoc.

The One Foundation, co-founded by Jet Li and the Red Cross Society of China, has set aside 950,000 yuan (132,039 U.S. dollars) to purchase food via the Red Cross, the Beijing Times reported Thursday.

The donation effort will cover 14 provinces and autonomous regions, including the most affected Hunan, Hubei, Anhui and Guangxi.

The worst snow in five decades has been plaguing 17 Chinese provinces and autonomous regions, paralyzing transportations, cutting power supplies and claiming at least 71 lives, according to Shanghai Daily.

The China Meteorological Administration said on Wednesday that the snowy weather will continue over the next three days in the country's southwestern, eastern and southern regions.
