    HEFEI, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Wang Sanyun was elected governor of east China's Anhui Province here on Thursday at a local legislative session.

    Wang was elected to the post at the first session of the 11th Anhui Provincial People's Congress.

    He was appointed vice and acting governor of Anhui in December.

    Wang, born in 1952, had worked in Guizhou, Sichuan and Fujian provinces before he moved to Anhui last year.

    Wang, of Han nationality, is a native of Shanxian county, Shandong Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1979.

    At the session Wang Jinshan was elected chairman of the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial People's Congress, the province's top lawmaker.
