BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- A college student has got the weird idea of skiing home on a highway in central China's Hubei province as many local highways were closed to traffic due to heavy snowfall.

    At ten o'clock on Monday, a patrol policeman found the man skiing on the Yichang-Wuhan highway. When questioned, the man said he was eager to go home but there was no long-distance bus service. "It suddenly occurred to me, why not try skiing since the snow is so good?" he said.

    So he rented skiing equipment, bought foods and bottles of mineral water and hit the way.

    The man is a student of Changjiang College of Jingzhou, a city on the Yichang-Wuhan highway. His home is in Wuhan, the capital city of the province, and more than 200 km from Jingzhou city.

    After questioning, the patrol policeman gave him a ride to catch a bus on another highway and headed for home.
