BEIJING, Jan. 28 -- A snub-nosed monkey was the center of attention at the No 82 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army in Huai'an, Jiangsu province, last Sunday, when it received an ultrasonic examination.

The monkey, held by its keeper, looked around at doctors and nurses while its tail waved.

The monkeys are State protected in the wild, but this primate, which lives at Huai'an Zoo, was in low spirits and had a lump in its stomach.

The examination showed it suffered from liver cirrhosis and hydronephrosis. Further treatment will be provided.
