HARBIN, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Li Zhanshu was elected governor of northeast
China's Heilongjiang Province and Qian Yunlu the top provincial lawmaker at a
session of the provincial legislature on Sunday.
Li, born in 1950 in Hebei Province of north China, was appointed acting
governor of Heilongjiang last month, after the resignation of former governor
Zhang Zuoji.
Li joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1975. He has been deputy
secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee since 2003.
The top provincial lawmaker Qian Yunlu, born in 1944 in the central
province of Hubei, is also the Communist Party chief of
Heilongjiang.
