JAKARTA, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- A member of the doctor team that is taking care of ailing former Indonesian president has denied that the former strong man would be allowed to go home in the coming days, local press said Friday.
It is impossible for Soeharto to go home this week. So it is only a rumor if it is said that Soeharto will be allowed to leave the hospital in the next three days, Dr. Christian Johanes was quoted by the national Antara news agency as saying.
He said that the health condition of the former New Order ruler on Thursday night was improving.
The 86-year-old man who has ruled Indonesia for 32 years was rushed to Pertamina hospital on Jan. 4 for severe anemia and edema.
Since his medical treatment, he has suffered multiple organ failure and gone through several critical phases.
