    RAMALLAH, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Israeli forces arrested 16 Palestinians in the West Bank during overnight raids, Palestinian security sources said on Tuesday.

    According to the sources, 14 people were detained in villages near Nablus city, one in Jenin and another in Ramallah city. Three of those nabbed in Nablus were members of the Palestinian security services.

    Quoting Israeli army sources, the Israel Radio described the seized people as wanted by the Israeli authorities. It added that an army patrol came under fire in Jenin but no casualties were reported.
