BEIJING, Jan. 15 -- Chinese movie-goers will be able to catch "Atonement," the fresh Best Film winner at this year's Golden Globe Awards, in late February, sources from the China Film Group Corporation say.

The British film has passed examination, and will hit Chinese theaters on February 22, according to Weng Li, spokesman of China Film Group, quoted in the Beijing-based Star Daily. The film company is the only importer of foreign films in China.

The World War Two epic, however, will likely have a minor cut to suit all age groups in China. It has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for disturbing war images and sexuality.

Adapted from British writer Ian McEwan's novel of the same name, "Atonement" won Best Film Drama and Best Original Score awards at the strike-plagued Golden Globes on Sunday, where a press conference substituted for the usually star-studded show to announce winners.
