BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen
Jiabao said here on Monday Sino-Indian relations face important strategic
chances as he met with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Wen said cooperation between China and India is of
great importance to world peace and prosperity.
He said the Chinese side commends Singh's comment
that there are enough space in the world for both countries to continue to grow,
and agreed that the mutual development of China and India will change the
outlook of Asia and even the world.
Singh told the Chinese Premier "India attaches the
highest priority to developing cooperative and mutually beneficial partnership
with China."
He said frequent mutual visits by high-level leaders
have promoted the development of bilateral relations and are indications of
mutual determination to enhance understanding and mutual trust.
Singh arrived in Beijing on Sunday morning for his
three-day trip to China, the first since he took office in 2004.

China, India vow to expand trade,
economic co-op
BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese and Indian senior
officials on Monday pledged to strengthen trade ties and economic cooperation in
fields of construction, investment, financial services, technology, education
and tourism.
Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu, who attended the
China-India Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation Summit held in Beijing,
welcomed the visit of Manmohan Singh, hailing the overall growth of ties between
the two countries, especially in economic and trade cooperation. Full story
Indian PM: Beijing's Olympics efforts
"inspiration" for India
BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh said here Sunday that Beijing's preparations for the Olympics is
a source of inspiration for India, which will host the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Singh made the remarks while visiting an exhibition center
near the National Stadium, nicknamed the Bird's Nest, in the north of the
Chinese capital. The center showcases scale models of the Bird's Nest, "Water
Cube", or the National Aquatic Center, and other Olympic venues. Full story
Indian Prime Minister kicks off China
visit
BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh arrived here Sunday morning, starting his three-day official
visit to China as guest of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
This is Singh's first China visit since he assumed the
