BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- An odd species of pig was found in Britain, media reported Saturday.
It looks like sheep, but in fact is pig, hence it is called sheep-pig. A British farmer has reintroduced the breed which became extinct in Britain 37 years ago.
Tony York named the new breed "Boris Johnson" after British Tory MP Boris Johnson, because he thought the recurrence of the sheep-pig was as important as the comeback of the Parliament member.
He brought 17 of the sub-breed back to his Pigs Paradise farm near Stonehenge in Wiltshire.
The "Curly Coats" were exported to Hungary during the early 20th century, where their coat helped them survive harsh winters.
They were then crossbred with the Mangalitza, a similar breed, creating the 'Lincolista'.
The British Pig Association has now agreed to register them as direct descendants of the Lincolnshire Curly Coat.
