13 Palestinians detained in Israeli operations across West Bank

    RAMALLAH, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Israeli army forces detained 13Palestinians during its operations across the West Bank which started Tuesday night, Palestinian security sources said Wednesday.

    Most of the detentions took place in Nablus city where Israeli soldiers stormed tens of houses at dawn and seized at least 10residents.

    Witnesses said that Palestinian gunmen attacked Israeli patrols with explosives. No injuries were reported in the attack.

    Two other Palestinians were arrested in Qalqilya town and the third was taken from Ramallah city, the sources said.

    Despite recent moves to restore confidence between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), Israel continues pursuing Palestinian activists whom it deems wanted.

    Meanwhile, Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs in the deposed Hamas government of Gaza issued a report showing that the number of Palestinian prisoners was around 12,000.
