LIMA, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Bolivian soccer club La Paz FC has signed United States soccer defender Keli Zenoni and local midfielder Edgar Olivares, the team's director, Juan Negrete on Tuesday told media, according to news reaching here on Tuesday.
The hirings are intended to strengthen the team ahead of the Libertadores Cup, the biggest South America competition for clubs, Negrete said.
Zenoni, 23, played for second division team the Minnesota Thunder, while Olivares played for Bolivian team Wilstermann.
Negrete said that Zenoni is La Paz's only foreign player, but that two more foreign signings were under consideration.
La Paz is one of three Bolivian teams that have qualified for the first phase of the Libertadores Cup. The other two are Potosi club Real and Oruro club San Jose.
