GAZA, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for Hamas said Tuesday that years of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians gave everything to the occupation but nothing to the Palestinians.

"The negotiations enhance the image of the occupation in front of the international community by showing the meetings with the Palestinian side which gets only illusive promises," spokesman Fawzi Barhoom said.

He accused the talks with Israel of giving the occupation a legitimacy to confiscate more Palestinian lands for settlement construction.

Israeli and Palestinian negotiators met Monday amid Palestinian frustration over Israeli decision to expand a settlement in east Jerusalem though the U.S.-hosted peace conference of Annapolis, which launched the negotiations, demanded the settlement activities be frozen.
