HANOI, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam is estimated to export goods worth 10.2 billion U.S. dollars to the United States this year, posting a year-on-year rise of 39 percent, local newspaper Vietnam Economic Times reported Tuesday.
This year, Vietnamese key exports to the foreign markets include textiles and garments with export turnovers of 4.4 billion dollars; footwear, 900 million dollars; woodwork, 930 million dollars, seafood, 740 million dollars; and coffee, some 200 million dollars, the paper quoted the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade as reporting.
Vietnam has targeted to export goods worth 13.1 billion dollars to the United States in 2008, of which 5.4 billion dollars will come from textiles and garments, 1.1 billion dollars from footwear, 1.1 billion dollars from woodwork, and 850 million dollars from seafood, said the ministry.
To this end, the country is focusing on intensifying trade promotion, improving products' quality and overcoming trade barriers.
