Vietnam reports over 50,000 criminal cases in 2007

    HANOI, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has detected more than 50,000 criminal cases since the beginning of this year, local newspaper Pioneer reported Monday.

    The number of serious cases, including those of murder, rape and robbery has increased against the same period last year, the paper quoted a report of the General Department of Police under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.

    Cases involving in acting against state cadres on duty have doubled to 500, which killed one traffic policeman and injured 43 others.
