BEIJING, Dec. 24 -- After the staggering success of
"Lord of the Rings" trilogy at box offices around the world, many world-class
directors are making for New Zealand, hoping that the southern Pacific nation
can bring the same magical power to their films.
Currently, almost 15 movies are set to be shot in New
Zealand with many featuring the world's leading actors and actresses.
Directed
by Gavin Hood, "Wolverine X-Men: The Beginnings" is one of them.
The 1970s-set film, which has a reported budget of
almost 76 million U.S. dollars, will be shot in Central Otago.
Australian actor Hugh Jackman continues in the role
of Wolverine.
Shooting starts in January.
Central Otago is located in the center of the South
Island and is known for it's deep valleys and rivers.
This area's wine is gaining popularity with the vineyards becoming hot destinations and welcoming travelers from all over the world to taste their wines.
