KABUL, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Taliban insurgents executed an old lady on
charge of spying for the Afghan and American troops in Afghanistan's southern
Uruzgan province, provincial police chief Juma Gul Humat said Thursday.
"The militants in their crime against humanity accused a 60-year old woman
of spying for the American and Afghan troops in Charchino district of Uruzgan
province and shot her dead on Wednesday," Gul told Xinhua.
He did not give more details.
Taliban militants, who in the past have executed more than a dozen people
on charge of espionage for Afghan and foreign troops, have yet to comment on the
latest murdering.
Rising militancy-related violence and conflicts have killed over 6,000
people in the war-torn Afghanistan this year.
