PRAGUE, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Czech police squad for uncovering organized crime (UOOZ) accused 11 Asians of trafficking in people and procurement, UOOZ spokeswoman Blanka Kosinova said on Sunday.
The suspects were arrested during night within the Tuong actionin central and west Bohemia area and in Prague, the capital of the country, the Czech news agency CTK reported.
The police searched tens of homes of detained Vietnamese, mainly in Prague and Domazlice, west Bohemia area, according to Novinky.cz server.
Kosinova said that the police had monitored the suspects since the beginning of the year.
The action is still underway, she added.
If the foreigners are found guilty, they will face up to 15 years in prison.
The police also allegedly raided three brothels in Prague and one in Cheb, west Bohemia area, CTK said.
The traffickers promised the girls the work of hostesses and barmaids, the Prima and Nova commercial television channels said.
Each of them had to pay up to 10,000 dollars for the "mediation" of work. They were forced into prostitution on arrival in the Czech Republic.
Most of their clients were allegedly people from Asia, the television channels reported.
The police found one million crowns in various currencies and drugs in the procurers' homes.
