China shifts Sichuan, Guangxi Party heads

    BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Liu Qibao has been appointed the Party secretary of southwest China's Sichuan Province, a statement from the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Central Committee said Sunday.

    Liu, born in 1953, was no longer the Party secretary of southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to the statement.

    Liu's post was replaced by Guo Shengkun, 53, who was formerly the deputy Party secretary of Guangxi.
