Special report:
2008 Olympic
Games
BEIJING, Nov. 30 -- The second phase of ticket sales
for the Beijing Olympic Games will begin December 10 and conclude on December
30, 2007. A lottery system similar to that used in the first phase will also
apply for this phase, BOCOG Ticketing Center Director Zhu Yan announced on
Friday.
The Chinese mainland public can submit applications
through the official ticketing website (www.ticket.beijing2008.cn) or through
1,000 Bank of China outlets designated by BOCOG, he told those at a press
conference at the Beijing Olympic Media Center.
The public may contact the ticket call center to
obtain relevant information, but the center will not accept applications, he
added. After the deadline, the ticketing center will randomly select buyers
based on the pool of tickets available.
Zhu said BOCOG actively considered suggestions from
various circles and decided to adopt a sales policy similar to that of the first
phase following the events of October 30. The ticketing service supplier,
Beijing Gehua Ticketmaster Ticheting Co. Ltd, has upgraded its system and will
conduct vigorous tests in the week ahead to ensure its stable operation.
