Special report: Mideast peace conference

RAMALLAH, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian security services arrested seven members of Islamic Hamas movement in West Bank over the past 24 hours, security sources and Hamas said on Wednesday.

The sources said the Hamas supporters were summoned for interrogation as part of plans to spread safety and security in the territories and to prevent anyone trying to incite the people against the leadership.

Hamas said in a statement that some of the detainees were taken forcibly without official summons.

The security forces vowed to prevent any "form of disorder" in the West Bank.

On Tuesday, they used force to disperse demonstrations against Annapolis peace conference held in the United States, which resulted in the death of a demonstrator.
