JAKARTA, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on his ministers to follow up the results of the 13th ASEAN Summit and use the momentum for the benefit of the state.

"With (the results of) this summit we have more things to do, have to work hard and, if possible, reduce our sleep," Antara news agency quoted the president as saying.

The president made the call during a press briefing with Indonesian journalists in Singapore before returning home on Thursday. He had attended an ASEAN Summit held in Singapore on Nov.19-23.

During the summit, Indonesia signed various agreements in the context of the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippine East Asia Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) and the ASEAM+3 (China, Japan, South Korea), ASEAN+China, ASEAN+Japan, ASEAN+South Korea and ASEAN+India dialogs.

The 10 ASEAN member countries also adopted an ASEAN Charter and signed documents relating to the formation of an ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and the ASEAN Declaration on the 13th Session of the Conference on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 3rd Conference of Parties Serving as the Meeting of the Parties (CMP) to the Kyoto Protocol.

The president said the consequence of the adoption of the ASEAN Charter was that all ASEAN members had to ratify it within one year's time.

"Indonesia must accomplish the ratification of the document. The government also has to pay serious attention to the solution of the Myanmar problem," the president said.

In the economic field, Yudyono said, the government would prepare the AEC blueprint, increase the competitive edge of its products, services and increase efficiency.

The aim is how to benefit from the integration of ASEAN into one market and one production base.

"This is a challenge not only for member countries but also for Indonesia because they have to face the implementation of the AEC concept in 2015," Yudhoyono said.
