BEIJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- "Pretty Woman"
actress Julia Roberts has teamed up with noted fashion designer Giorgio Armani
to design a bracelet to sell for World AIDS Day, media reported Wednesday.
It is the first time the Italian designer has ever
worked with another name on a project.
"Julia has helped to create a beautiful accessory for
both women and men, which will also be a visible reminder of the part we can all
play in fighting AIDS in Africa," Armani said.
The bohemian-style leather bracelets come in red for
women and brown for men. They feature an imprint of a "tree of life" with the
words "Revolution-Evolution-Devotion" and the initials J.R. on the inside.
The bracelet is 175 U.S. dollars for women and 195
dollars for men, and will go on sale at emporioarmani.com on World AIDS Day on
Dec. 1 and be available in stores from Feb. 1.
Proceeds benefit (PRODUCT) RED, the business initiative
started by U2 front man Bono and Bobby Shriver to help combat HIV/AIDS in
Africa.
The Oscar-winning actress has often worn Armani gowns
to movie ceremonies and is a long-term friend of the designer.
