BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese share prices maintained downward trend on Monday led by new heavy weight PetroChina's entering into the Shanghai Composite Index list.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, slipped 46.45 points, or 0.87 percent, to 5,269.82.
The Shenzhen Component Index on the smaller Shenzhen Stock Exchange dropped 67.59 points, or 0.40 percent, to 16,660.67.
The Hushen 300 Index, accounting for 60 percent of the nation's stock market value, was down 13.25 points, or 0.26 percent, to 4,994.42.
