China to expand cooperation with ADB in poverty relief

    BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- China hopes to deepen partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in poverty relief, said Vice Premier Hui Liangyu here Thursday.

    Hui told visiting ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda that China spoke positively of the progress made in the country's cooperation with the ADB, and is ready to enhance partnership with ADB and other international organizations in a bid to promote regional cooperation and contribute to global poverty relief.

    China's development features peace, openness, cooperation and harmony, the vice premier said, adding the Chinese government attaches great importance to poverty relief in its development.

    Haruhiko Kuroda said he appreciated China's increasingly important role in the region and the world, adding ADB valued its cooperation with China and is willing to play a positive role in China's sustained poverty relief and overall development.
