    U.S. astronaut Neil Armstrong was onboard Apollo 11 when it landed on the moon on July 20, 1969, an epoch-making moment watched by 500 million people worldwide. Armstrong stepped out of the lunar module and walked into the "Sea of Tranquility." This historic feat has been well remembered with Armstrong's iconic saying "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
