BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has been named alongside a host of supermodels and socialites as one of the world's most glamorous women by British Vogue magazine.

The fashion magazine's 50-name "Definitive List of Today's Glamorous Women" also includes supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, and Helen Mirren, who played the British monarch in the Oscar-winning film "The Queen."

Vogue says the queen is "as glamorous in her brogues and headscarf in Balmoral (her Scottish Highland retreat) as she is wearing the crown jewels."

Glamour, the magazine noted, is "about how you wear something, not about what you wear. You cannot buy glamour and you can't fake it."

The queen favors conservative but often brightly colored ensembles for her public appearances, accessorized with sensible shoes and handbags.

"It's a great compliment. She has a very practical approach to fashion and a great sense of occasion," a Buckingham Palace spokeswoman told the media when asked about the fashion icon's tip of the hat to the queen.

"This month she becomes the first British monarch to celebrate a diamond wedding anniversary and next month she becomes Britain's oldest ever reigning monarch," she added.
