RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Argentina defeated
the United Arab Emirates 4-2 on Monday in the second round Group D matches of
the beach soccer World Cup on the Copacabana beach in the Brazilian city of Rio
de Janeiro.
Federico Hilaire scored two goals, Facunco Minici
made a spectacular scorpion kick and Gustavo Casado netted from a free kick to
secure Argentina's first win. Their opening match had been a 5-3 loss to
Nigeria.
The Emirates, who with two losses are all but
eliminated, held their own at first equalizing from Rami Al Mesaabi's long
free-kick. Qambar Sadeqi made the team's second goal from a penalty.
In Group D's next matches on Wednesday, Argentine
will play France and the Emirates will face Nigeria.
