ISLAMABAD, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Two militants were killed and six people were injured during the exchange of fires between the security forces and militants in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, the official Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Local militants in Matta, a town in Swat Valley of North West Frontier Province (NWFP), confirmed the death of one of their accomplice and injury of another, the APP said, adding that the body of a militant and some other injured people brought to the Matta hospital.
The government sent about 2,500 paramilitary troops to the Swatvalley last week to curb militancy upon the request of local administration. The security launched an operation and killed at least 10 militants in the area.
