17th CPC National Congress
BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- More leaders of foreign countries,political
parties and organizations have continued to send congratulatory messages to
Chinese President Hu Jintao over his reelection as general secretary of the
Communist Party of China (CPC).
Singaporean President S. R. Nathan said in his message that China has made
remarkable accomplishments since reform was launched in 1978. Under Hu's
leadership much progress has been made in building a "harmonious society" and
attaining scientific development. He expressed the belief that under Hu's
leadership China will continue to make progress and overcome the challenges that
lie ahead.
Jalal Al-Talabani, Iraqi president and general secretary of thePatriotic
Union of Kurdistan, said in his message that Hu's reelection reflects the trust
of more than 70 million CPC members in the vital leadership of the Party Central
Committee, and his reelection will help further consolidate the friendship and
cooperation between the two countries and the two parties.
Nigerian President Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, in his message, expressed
his sincere congratulations on Hu's reelection.
He said China's ties with Africa, with Nigeria in particular, "have
attained great heights within this period culminating in thepresent strategic
partnerships," which conforms to the mutual benefit of the two countries and
their peoples. He expressed Nigeria's sincere desire to further nourish and
expand the areas and scopes of bilateral cooperation.
Ugandan President and Chairman of the National Resistance Movement Yoweri
Kaguta Museveni congratulated Hu's reelection, adding that his party "salute the
important resolution" of the CPCCongress on the consolidation of the "Scientific
Outlook on Development," which keeps China firmly on the road to rapid and
successful reform, opening up and socialist modernization.
Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf said in her message that Hu's
reelection was an affirmation of the confidence the Chinese people have in his
ability to lead them and stems from thevery rapid progress China has witnessed
in recent years under the "farsighted" leadership of Hu.
She expressed the hope that the cordial ties between Liberia and China will
be deepened and the scope of cooperation broadened to the mutual benefit of the
two countries.
Benin President Thomas Boni Yayi extended "warmest congratulations" to Hu's
reelection and expressed confidence that the friendship, cooperation and
solidarity between the two countries would be further strengthened.
President of Guinea Bissau Joao Bernardo Vieira reiterated thathe would
make all his best to further consolidate and develop the existing friendly and
cooperative relations between the two countries and bring benefits to the two
peoples.
President of Equatorial Guinea and President of the
Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo said he
believed the basis for the cooperation between his party and the CPC would be
more solid with Hu's reelection and the existing bilateral friendly cooperation
in key areas concerning people's well-being would be further developed.
