WUHAN, Central China, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Fuzhou's Li Bingwei grabbed the
gold medal at men's foil here on Sunday, the first champion for the city in
three days' fencing competition at the Chinese City Games.
Both Li and his rival Li Bo from Nantong showed too much prudence in the
final as neither produced any hit in the first minute. The referee showed both a
yellow card as a warning.
Li Bo quickly adjusted himself to storm a 5-0 run that laid a solid
foundation for his eventual 12-7 win.
Fuzhou demonstrated its dominance in men's individual foil competition on
Sunday, occupying three seats in the quarter-finals.
Fuzhou's Lin Jianhua took the bronze medal and Wang Xu came the
fourth.
