BEIJING, Oct. 28 -- The 16th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival finished on Saturday in the eastern city of Suzhou.

Veteran Hong Kong actress Carina Lau and mainland actress Yan Bingyan shared the Best Actress of the Golden Rooster Awards. Suzhou-born Carina Lau was honored for her role in the 2006 film "Curiosity Kills the Cat," while Yan Bingyan starred in "Teeth of Love."

Chinese mainland actors viewed for the Best Actor award, which went to Fu Dalong, for his portrayal of a veteran in "Tian Gou," or "The Forest Ranger."

The Golden Rooster Awards and the Hundred Flowers Awards, founded in 1981 and 1962 respectively, have long been the top honors among China's film industry. In 1992, the two combined into the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival, an annual celebration known as China's Oscars.
