BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu said on Tuesday that China is ready to learn agricultural development techniques from the Netherlands.

At a meeting with Dutch Minister of Agriculture Gerda Verburg, Hui spoke highly of Sino-Dutch relations and bilateral agricultural cooperation.

He said the Chinese government attaches great importance to agricultural development, and it has always been committed to raising farm output and efficiency at the lowest possible consumption of resources.

Both sides agreed to further bilateral scientific and technological cooperation in agriculture while giving full play to the bilateral agricultural working group as an official cooperation channel between the two governments.

Hui visited the Netherlands in April this year, during which the two sides signed a joint declaration on agricultural cooperation that aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in agriculture and rural development.
