KUNMING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- China will hold its first rural culture and art festival in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The festival, scheduled for November 18 to 22 at the Fubao village, near the Dianchi Lake, includes folk art and crafts exhibitions, rural gourmet delicacy banquets, folk dance galas and forums on village cultures, said Xiong Zhengyi, deputy director of the provincial culture department.

It will also be a showcase for miscellaneous intangible Chinese cultural heritages such as Jingdezhen porcelain, Tibetan Thangka paintings, ethnic embroidery art, and wood-carving crafts, he said.

The event is co-sponsored by the Farmer's Daily and the culture department of Yunnan province.
