    Special Report: 17th CPC National Congress

    BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), scheduled to open here on Monday, will last seven days till Oct. 21, a spokesman for the congress said on Sunday.

    The twice-a-decade event will open at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in central Beijing, said spokesman Li Dongsheng at a press briefing Sunday afternoon.
