BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- R. Kelly, American
urban R&B singer and songwriter, revealed he'll start his national
concert tour with an upcoming performance on Nov. 14 in Columbus, Georgia, media
reports said Wednesday.
The tour in support of his latest album "Double Up"
is tentatively set to make stops in a dozen U.S. cities.
He will be joined by R&B star Keyshia Cole,
Grammy nominee/multi-platinum artist Ne-Yo and R&B/Hip-Hop singer J.Holiday.
Kelly, 40, was charged with child pornography in 2002, but
his trial has been postponed several times, and no new trial date has been set.¡¡
Kelly's spokesman Allan Mayer said the singer is in the
process of getting court permission to travel to the dates on the tour. He has
received approval for previous tours and events outside of Illinois.
Kelly's last tour, the Spring 2006 "Light It Up" Tour,
featured Kelly (a.k.a. Mr. Show Biz) on stage for nearly two hours with a live
band and three back-up singers in what the New York Times called a "hugely
entertaining and totally unpredictable stroll through his career."
A true musical icon, multi-instrumentalist, record
producer, and occasional rapper, Kelly has sold well over 40 million albums
worldwide since his first release some 15 years ago.
